In 2008, Michaelis, Montanari & Johnson was proud to join with Gary
and his associate, Lisa Toczauer, in a firm merger. Their combined
experience and knowledge base adds greatly to the services we have
been able to extend to our clients.
He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in business, with a minor in
economics, from UCLA in 1966. Gary obtained a Juris Doctor degree
from University of California Hastings College of Law in San Francisco
in 1969. He was a Deputy District Attorney of Los Angeles County for
6 years.
Moving into private practice, Gary associated with two civil defense
litigation firms before opening his own firm in 1995 in Ventura,
California, focusing on the defense in cases from construction defects,
medical malpractice, products liability and professional liability. Gary
has completed over 100 jury trials.
Gary is a member of the Ventura County Inns of Court and is a former
Commissioner of the Ventura Port District Commission. He currently
serves on the Airport Advisory Commission of Ventura County. He is a
certified private pilot, multi-engine with an instrument rating, has logged
over 3,000 hours of pilot-in-command time, and owns a Beech Barron
E55 twin-engine aircraft.
